¡¡¡¡Foshan Exhibition and Convention
Association, composed of enterprises, academic institutes and
economic entities and individuals, is an organization in Foshan
near Guangzhou, engaged in exhibition industry. It is under the
direct leadership of Foshan Economic and Trade Bureau. The
Leaders of Foshan city stand as the honorary directors of the
Exhibition and Convention Association. The consultative
committee of the Association is made up of experts at home and
abroad, professors, and leaders of chamber of commerce. At
present, there are over 100 members of various enterprises
including some listed companies. The members are chiefly divided
into three categories as the following:
I. Various exhibition halls and markets engaged in particular fields: e.g. China Ceramics City, Huaxia Ceramics City, Lecong International Furniture Exhibition Centre, Chencun Flower Market and China International Machinery Trade Centre in Nanhai.
II. The members also include some enterprises and economic entities which often join in conferences or exhibitions including some industrial manufacturers, import and export companies as well as all kinds of associations. e.g. furniture associations, home electronic appliances, building materials association as well as chamber of commerce for metal manufacturer.
III. Service institutions on exhibition business including various types of medias (newspapers, TV stations etc.), advertisement companies, scheming companies, exhibition service companies, hotels, transportation as well as telecommunication and insurance companies.
Purpose of the Association
¡¡¡¡The Association aims at serving the enterprises and facilitating economic development. The Association tries to keep the reputations of the exhibition enterprises and to share resources with each other. It also makes every effort to defend the legal rights and interests of the enterprises as well as to facilitate the communication among the enterprises, government and the masses, publicizing the key roles of exhibition industry and exhibition economy to economic development. It offers opportunities to learn the experience of exhibition at home and abroad. In conclusion, the Association focuses on the research and exploration of the problems arising in the exhibition industry in Foshan as well as the recommendation of exhibition projects with particular features, thus to promote the development of exhibition industry in Foshan.
Business Scope
With the motto of ¡°Honesty, Practicality, Efficiency and Progression¡±, with the spirit of ¡°Exploration, Creativity, Devotion and Contribution¡±, the Association is engaged in the following services:¡¡
I.¡¡The Association works as a bridge between the enterprises and the government. It publicizes the policies and regulations concerned to promote the communication between the enterprises and government. In addition, it helps the government to form the plans and regulations for exhibition industry, taking the problems in exhibitions into consideration.
II.¡¡The Association undertakes various exhibitions at home and abroad, particularly exhibitions chiefly on Foshan local brands in order to help develop the economy in Foshan.
III.¡¡The Association acts as agents for exhibitions at abroad, providing exhibition projects and consultative services for the exhibition enterprises.
IV. The Association conducts co-operations with exhibition and convention associations at home and abroad as well as famous universities at home and abroad to organize activities such as exhibition lectures, training sessions and experience exchange.
V. The Association provides information about exhibitions to be held in Foshan and informs the member enterprises and organizing enterprises to improve the benefit of exhibitions.
VI. The Association provides legal counseling services on intellectual property of exhibits for exhibition enterprises. It also helps the enterprises to apply for exhibition funds, or to undertake exhibition applications.
Work Branches
The Secretariat of the Association, its own standing institution, deals with the routine affairs of conferences. It is divided into three departments as the following:
I.¡¡Member Service Department: It is in charge of communication with member enterprises, membership administration, scheming member enterprise activities.
II. Projects Development Department: It is in charge of the planning, coordination and organization of exhibitions at home and abroad.
III.¡¡Comprehensive Information Department: It is in charge of public relationship, information collecting, processing and publicizing as well as website maintenance and financial management.
